Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) is a proud sponsor of your favorite Denton event – the Denton Black Film Festival! And we are your perfect ride.
The Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) is an inclusive five-day event that allows guests to experience artistic showcases of black cinema, music, spoken word and more. This year, the festival celebrates 10 years of showcasing black culture, lives, and experiences to be shared, told, and lived. This milestone will be commemorated by highlighting the importance of sharing and celebrating Joy within the Black community and beyond.
The festival will be hosted in various locations in Denton. Use the Transit mobile app to track your public transit ride for Connect Bus and A-train!

The A-train serves portions of southern Denton County from Carrollton/Trinity Mills to Downtown Denton, and from there you can hop on a Connect Bus. The A-train does not operate on Sundays so plan accordingly.

The Denton Black Film Festival has a jam-packed schedule of events including film screenings, visual art exhibits, concerts, and more. Additionally, the festival will feature filmmaker masterclasses, Q&As, art shows, a youth gaming tournament, and exclusive VIP events.

The Denton Black Film Festival kicks off on Thursday, January 25th with the opening night film screening “Going to Mars: The Nikki Giovanni Project” at the Alamo Drafthouse in Denton.
