Denton’s Annual Arts & Autos Extravaganza (September 10)
This free event – hosted by the Denton Main Street Association – is a classic car, truck and motorcycle showcase as well as a hands-on art and crafts, games, Chalk Fest and live music festival. The event will be held on Saturday, September 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. around the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square. Denton Blues Festival (September 17)
Love singing and listening to the blues? The Denton Black Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 18th Annual Denton Blues Festival which will feature music and activities for the entire family! The event will take place at Quakertown Park on Saturday, September 17 from 1:00 to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 18 from 1:00 to 8:30 p.m. Festival-goers can ride the A-train and take Denton Connect Routes 4 and 5 to listen to amazing blues music. Oaktopia Music Festival (September 22-24)
Denton’s Oaktopia Music Festival will take place all day Thursday, September 22 through Saturday, September 24 at multiple venues surrounding the Courthouse-on-the-Square, with main stage acts performing in the backyard of Travelstead. Deemed by the Dallas Observer as “the best three-day music festival north of Dallas,” Oaktopia explores the nature of our city through art, music and culture. Festival goers can ride the A-train and take Denton Connect Routes 6, 7, 8, and 9 to get to all the fun activities. For more information, visit www.oaktopiafest.com.
Lewisville Western Days Festival (September 23-24)
The Lewisville Western Days Festival will be held on Friday, September 23 from 5 to 11:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Three festival stages will feature national and regional live music, with headliners Eli Young Band and Old 97’s. In addition to music, there will be many activities to partake in such as trick ropers, kid’s stick horse rodeo and more. Festival goers can ride the A-train to the Old Town and Hebron Station and take our free shuttles to all the fun! DCTA staff will have a booth at the festival so don’t forget to stop by for some goodies and to learn more about the agency. For more information, visit www.lewisvillewesterndays.com.
Taste of Industrial Street Fundraiser (September 29)
Join the United Way of Denton County for the 4th Annual Taste of Industrial Street Fundraiser that willtake place at Dan’s Silver Leaf in Denton on Thursday, September 29 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Come out and enjoy a fun evening of live music from One Bad Habit, food, drinks, drawings, and dancing from the UW Tribute dancers! Ticket prices are $35 per person, $60 per couple and you could also reserve a table of four!
